ARE WE AWARE?
Dear Sri Lankan,
Dear mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, friend;
We know about the crisis; but are we AWARE? Are we aware to what precarious position the country has been brought to as a result of the crisis? Are we aware of the decisive importance, conclusive criticality of this very moment? Are we aware that the nation is at the point of no return?
Back in Sri Lanka, we supported, or at least voted for, either the Blue or the Green, hoping against hopes that they will look after the people. But, those power crazy, corrupt, greedy leaders’ only interest was their comforts, their enjoyment, their security and their future. The only other living beings they cared for were their families, kith and kin, lovers & mistresses and of course, henchmen who licked their boots. None bothered about the general masses. None gave priority to anything else other than being in power, so that they can amass wealth overseas. All these Blue and Green leaders have bought mansions in rich countries, operate foreign bank accounts and are ready to say "Good Bye, Sri Lanka", with a moment’s notice. The only reason why they are still there is because every minute they are in power, or would be in power, more cash accumulates in their foreign bank accounts.
Both these treacherous parties have now agreed to join hands in the final sale of the land of our ancestors, our country, the island that was to belong to our next countless generations. Friends, this worst treachery in our history shall happen in a matter of months, if not weeks - IF WE DON’T ACT NOW, THIS MOMENT, WITHOUT ANYMORE DELAY.
It is very, very late. But, it is still not TOO LATE; WE
CAN SAVE OUR COUNTRY IF, & ONLY IF, WE ACT NOW, WITHOUT ANY FURTHER DELAY.
Join hands with patriotic individuals, become active members of organisations,
spend an hour every day to think about, discuss and do some thing for the
country which gave you life.
After much careful study of the crisis, after much analysis we have to come to
the following conclusion:
Whatever benevolent things we do, for example, sending money to the National Defence Fund and Welfare organisations, sending medicine, clothing, food to the displaced and the injured, Bodhi Pooja, Prayer meetings etc. are all very good. They are immensely better than turning a blind eye, a deaf year or just directing empty criticism at almost everybody and every organisation. BUT NONE OF THEM WOULD ADDRESS THE ROOT CAUSE. They will only help heal some wounds but will not prevent wounds being created every day. When hundred wounds heal, thousands more will be created in the same period. Therefore let us address the root cause.
THEREFORE, THE ONLY WAY THIS CALAMITY CAN BE PREVENTED IS TO OPPOSE THE SELL-OUT NOW. AND THE ONLY FORCE THAT CAN AND WILL RESSIST THE SELL-OUT IS THE NEWLY FORMED MOVEMENT CALLED SIHALA URUMAYA (SU).
SU’s main objective is to win enough seats in the coming election to usurp the balance of power, which had been in the hands of the separatists for the last several decades. The moment that happens, the party in power (that is Blue or Green, again) will start back peddling, giving back the rights of the majority which they themselves took away because of those who had the balance of power in earlier times.
THE ONLY AVENUE LEFT IS TO DEFEAT THE BLUE & GREEN POLITICIANS’ ATTEMPT AT THE SELL-OUT; AND THAT CAN ONLY BE DONE BY A POLITICAL FORCE. AND THAT TIMELY FORMED FORCE IS SU.
This is where you and I can help. If each one of us make a pledge to donate a decent one-off sum to SU and follow it up with a pledge to donate at least a day’s wage every month until such time the movement establishes itself, then, even if we don’t do anything else, we would have done a great service to our motherland. We would have helped create and establish the saviour of our nation at this eleventh hour.
A large number of patriots gathered in Melbourne and established an organisation by the same name - SIHALA URUMAYA –VICTORIA with the principle objective of raising much needed funds for SU in Sri Lanka.
IN THE NAME OF THE HOLY LAND THAT IS SRI LANKA, WE PLEAD YOU TO COMMIT YOURSELF, TODAY, IMMEDIATELY, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. The annual membership fee for SIHALA URUMAYA – VICTORIA IS ONLY A$ 10.00. We need not become party members, if we don’t like joining any party. And, we can stop donations, any time, if we feel that SU is not doing the right thing. Sihala Urumaya-Victoria assures you that even money received through memberships will be sent to Sihala Urumaya Sri Lanka.
WE HAVE ALSO LAUNCHED A ONE MILLION-RUPEE FUND TO HELP SIHALA URUMAYA, SRI LANKA. PLEASE DONATE GENEROUSLY.
OUR SIMPLE ARITHMATICAL VIEW OF THIS FUND IS:
Rs 1000,000 = A$ 22,000 = 220 X 100 =440 X50
This means we need only 220 patriots to donate only A$100.00 each to fulfil this commitment. This analysis is given only to show our task is not at all difficult although it sounds huge. WE WELCOME ANY AMOUNT YOU CAN AFFORD FOR THIS WORTHY CAUSE and Sihala Urumaya-Victoria will guarantee full accountability and transparency of the fund and a receipt will be issued for your donations. As soon as the fund is officially closed, we will circulate an audited financial statement to all contributors.
You can either credit your donations directly to our Commonwealth Bank account number 063009 1021 3528 or write a cheque to ‘Sihala Urumaya-Victoria’ and mail to: PO Box 131, Kingsbury,Vic 3083. If direct deposit is made then we want you to send a note to us or an e-mail indicating name, address, ph.number, the amount donated and the date of deposit to the following addresses for our records. We will ensure that a receipt will be issued and mailed within 10 days of the notice.
